How to Connect to Azure HDInsight Cluster using Putty

In order to connect to our Azure HDInsight cluster using Putty, follow the below steps. Go to your Azure Cloud 🡪 to your HDInsight Cluster 🡪 and click on “SSH + Cluster Login”

Select the HostName -i.e. your HDInsight Cluster and copy the ssh Details to connect

For Putty Login Credentials are

Host Name : <YourHDINsightClusterName>-HDInsight-Cluster-ssh.azurehdinsight.net

User : sshuser

Pwd : <Your-sshuser-pwd>

Or you can directly provide username@clustername in the Host Name as shown in screen above and just enter password while connecting using Putty

And double click and enter password for your sshuser that you set up during commissioning the cluster:

All your HDFS command will run as is –
